About Gill CC Woodworks
Gill CC Woodworks specializes in custom-designed handmade dining tables, bars, coffee tables, doors, and more. For 10 years, we have celebrated the spirit of each tree and brought nature’s beauty into homes and businesses. Each piece is composed of sustainably sourced logs sawn right on site by the maker, from tree to heirloom. Featuring mortise and tenon joinery, butterfly inlays, live edge, or traditional profiles, each piece is genuinely one of a kind.
Growing up surrounded by the craft and learning from father and master 18th-century reproduction craftsman Dick French, we are rooted deep in the tradition of craftsmanship. Over the years, owner and woodworker Sam French has developed his voice in this tradition by reshaping nature’s raw displays of beauty into new yet familiar forms. Sam creates unique pieces of custom-made wood furniture and live edge furniture from materials he sustainably harvests and mills at the shop.
The shop is located on a beautiful 1800s family farm surrounded by picturesque conservation land, a tree farm, logs, and lots of lumber. Past clients include Maya Lin, Smith College, Neilson Library, PACE Art Gallery, N.M.H, Amherst College, Dudley Town Brewery, Bialosky Architects, and more.

OUR SERVICES
What Can We Build For You?
Stages of Our Work
Gill CC Woodworks is a custom furniture shop based in Gill MA. We are located on a 3rd generation family farm. Home to a sawmill, tree farm, enormous inventory of lumber and slabs and a multiroom shop complex on the picturesque family farm. At Gill CC Woodworks each piece we make is custom designed for each client. Many end up becoming friends and repeat clients. our pieces are made from sustainably harvested and sourced materials much of which come from Gill and is sawn right on site by myself. From Tree to heirloom we celebrate the life of every tree with each piece.
We begin each piece by addressing the major design components. Function, aesthetics, and size.
We get to know each client's needs, likes, and aesthetics. Sketches and a google drive folder are created to clarify design details, solidify the project, and allow a detailed communication.
We select the wood from our massive inventory, get it into the acclimation room, and secure our clients spot in the queue. We tend to book out so we recommend ordering as far in advance as possible.
We deliver all over the country NY, NJ, ME, CT, VA, MA just to name a few. We work with all of our clients to make sure each piece arrives safely and is assembled.

FEEDBACKS
A Few Words From Our Happy Clients

When we had to take down that 125 year old stately Elm tree to reroute campus utilities around the Neilson Library construction, who would guess that such a loss would result in these beautiful live edge furniture pieces that grace each floor of the new library. I am delighted that we put this project in your capable hands. Thanks so much for creating this furniture that will be a delight to all those entering the library for generations to come.
Charlie Conant
Project Manager, Smith College
